[Vegetable Based Leather Tanning Material]

  It is obtained by grinding pods of tree found in Central and western India. It is mixed type tannin material consisting Pyrogallol & Catechol tannins.

ATTRIBUTES – 

1) This is mixed type pyrogallol and catechol tanning material.

2) IWP bears high acidity.

3) It improves fastness of leather imparted by other catechol tannins OR syntans.

4) It yields light colour leather mostly whitish leather.

 

TANNING PROPERTIES 

   IWP GS

1) It penetrates slowly, there for it is not used self tanning material OR for primary tanning alone.

2) It is used along with other syntans where it improves the light fastness.

3) In EI tanning it is used in blend with Catechu Extract.

4) When blended with condensed type tannin, it suite for heavy leather, sole leather tanning

producing light colour leather some users obtaining white leather.

5) It is best suitable for Split leather, Goat, ship skins.

6) It is very suitable at retanning stage.

 

Catechu extract is obtained from heart wood of acacia catechu tree

Cutch extract contains catechol type of tannins

It is more astringent having high tannin non tannin ratio

It produce light brown color leather

It is also an alternative of mimosa and quebracho

It is widely used in tanning and dying of leather because of its fast, standardized and settled results

It produces brown and olive hues with different mordant

It has resistance property to mildew attack

This material is obtained by grinding whole nut of Myrobalan Tree. This is hydrolysable type material having tannin content max. 45 %

TANNING PROPERTIES 

 

1)      Being Hydrolysable type & slow penetration power it can not be used as self tanning material.

2)      It is blended with catechol tannins, it imparts light colour, fullness, plumpness & firmness of leather.

3)      MMP promotes fixation of catechol tannins giving mellowing effect.

4)      It is used for final stage of tanning OR For retanning to improve light fastness.

5)      It is used for retannage of wet blue, Cow, buffalo, Ship & Goat Skins. Particularly shrunk grain upper leather.

6)      MMP blended with other syntans as it protect from oxidation & promotes fixation of catechol tannins.

7)      In making sole leather MMP can be blended with Mimosa.
